Enjoying being "Grammy" and "Nanny". Look forward to weekly visits with my bus kids and the ride to and from church on Sunday morning. Aware that many little eyes may be watching me. I want to be a faithful example to them.

Linda, Camille and I were so shocked to hear about Mike. We've been praying that God's strength and grace would be bountiful for you and your children, and that you will know a peace that only He can give.
When we lost our little Elise, there was one thought that kept running through my head over and over again. It was something like this: "What a tragedy... what a waste for a life with so much potential to be cut short. The death of an elderly woman is understandable, but why take the life of one with so much more to offer?" I struggled with that for a long, long time. But eventually the Lord showed me His perspective: no life that is ordered by God's timing, however long or however brief, is ever "cut short." God has our times in His hands, and He is lovingly Sovereign. There is no "too soon" or "too late" in God's plan. He works ALL things together for our good.
I love The Message's paraphrase of that favorite passage from Romans 8:
"Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."
This is a sad time for all of us and especially for you and your children. You're having to wade some pretty deep waters. But our loving God will, in His time, make even this very bitter time sweet to you.
Again, our prayers are with you all.
Dear Linda & Family,
